Terms of Use
ShortTale mobile application, website, and related services
Service provider: Cousins Trading LLC
Support contact: lannniaga@gmail.com
Website: https://shorttaledramaapp.com/
1. Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Cousins Trading LLC ("ShortTale," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the ShortTale mobile application, website, account services, video content, subscriptions, in-app purchases, advertising-supported features, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
By downloading, accessing, registering for, purchasing through, or using the Services, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. Additional terms shown at the time of a purchase, promotion, subscription, or feature use also apply and form part of these Terms.
2. Eligibility and Parental Permission
You must be at least 13 years old to use ShortTale. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Services only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. Certain content may be intended for mature audiences and may not be appropriate for all users. We may apply age gates or access restrictions where required.
3. Accounts and Sign-In
Some features require a ShortTale account. You may be able to register or sign in through Google or another supported authentication provider. You agree to provide accurate information, maintain control of your account, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access.
- You may not sell, transfer, sublicense, share for commercial purposes, or impersonate another person through an account.
- You are responsible for activity conducted through your account except to the extent caused by ShortTale's failure to use reasonable security measures.
- We may require account verification and may restrict access to protect users, transactions, content rights, or service security.
- Deleting the app does not delete your account. Account deletion is available through the app where offered or at https://shorttaledramaapp.com/delete-account/.
Deleting your ShortTale account does not automatically cancel an active subscription purchased through Google Play or another payment provider. You must separately cancel the subscription through the provider used for purchase.
4. Description of the Services
ShortTale is a streaming service for licensed vertical short-form drama series and related entertainment content. Some episodes or features may be available without payment. Other content or benefits may require viewing advertisements, spending virtual Coins, making a one-time purchase, or maintaining a subscription.
Content, features, pricing, advertising availability, supported devices, download options, and catalog availability may vary by country, account, app version, licensing arrangements, and time. We may add, change, suspend, or remove content or features, subject to applicable law and any rights attached to completed purchases.
5. Limited Content License
Subject to these Terms, ShortTale grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to stream and, where offered, temporarily download content through the Services for private, non-commercial viewing.
You must not:
- Record, screen-capture, copy, re-encode, redistribute, sell, publicly perform, broadcast, or make content available outside the Services.
- Circumvent digital rights management, geographic restrictions, paywalls, security measures, advertising requirements, or technical access controls.
- Use content, trademarks, artwork, data, or software for commercial purposes without prior written permission.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, modify, translate, scrape, or create derivative works from the Services except where applicable law expressly permits such activity despite this restriction.
All rights not expressly granted remain with ShortTale and its licensors. Content remains owned by its respective rights holders.
6. Subscriptions and Automatic Renewal
ShortTale may offer subscriptions that provide recurring access to specified premium content or benefits. The exact benefits, price, currency, billing period, introductory offer, trial period, and other material terms are displayed before purchase and in the Google Play billing interface or other authorized payment interface.
- Auto-renewing subscriptions renew at the end of each billing period until canceled.
- The payment provider will charge the payment method associated with your account at the beginning of each renewal period, subject to the terms displayed at purchase.
- If a free trial or introductory offer is provided, it converts to the disclosed paid subscription when the offer ends unless canceled before conversion.
- Subscription prices and benefits may change prospectively. Where required, notice or consent will be provided through the payment provider, the app, or another appropriate method.
- A subscription must provide recurring value during the subscription period. One-time Coin packages or single-use benefits are sold as one-time products rather than disguised as subscriptions.
7. Managing and Canceling Subscriptions
Subscriptions purchased through Google Play must be managed or canceled through Google Play. Uninstalling ShortTale, ceasing use, signing out, or deleting a ShortTale account does not cancel a subscription.
Google Play subscription management: https://play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions
Unless a different rule is displayed at purchase or required by law, cancellation takes effect after the current paid billing period and access continues until that period ends. To avoid a future renewal charge, cancel before the next billing period begins. If Google Play or another payment provider changes, pauses, or terminates a subscription, the provider's applicable rules also apply.
8. Virtual Coins and One-Time Purchases
ShortTale may offer virtual Coins or other digital items used to unlock episodes or features. Coins are a limited contractual license to use designated in-app functionality; they are not money, property, stored value, cryptocurrency, or a financial instrument.
- Coins may be used only within ShortTale and have no cash value outside the Services.
- Coins are non-transferable and may not be sold, exchanged for cash, or used in another application.
- Purchased Coins do not expire unless disclosed at purchase or permitted by law; promotional or bonus Coins may expire under the disclosed promotion terms.
- Once Coins are spent to unlock content or receive a benefit, the transaction is generally final except where required by law or where a verified technical error occurred.
- Coin prices, episode unlock prices, and promotional allocations may change prospectively. Changes will not retroactively remove content already validly unlocked, except where access must end due to licensing, security, legal, or platform requirements.
For the Google Play version of ShortTale, purchases of digital content, Coins, and subscriptions are processed using Google Play Billing unless another billing method is expressly permitted under applicable Google Play programs and law.
9. Prices, Payment, Taxes, and Purchase Validation
The price and currency shown in the authorized purchase interface control the transaction. Prices may include or exclude taxes depending on location and platform rules. The payment provider processes payment credentials and may decline or reverse a transaction. ShortTale may verify purchase tokens, order identifiers, subscription status, and entitlement status to deliver paid benefits and prevent fraud.
You may not use unauthorized payment methods, exploit pricing errors, manipulate purchase validation, request improper chargebacks, or obtain paid content through fraud. We may suspend associated benefits while a payment dispute, reversal, refund, or fraud investigation is pending.
10. Refunds
Refund eligibility depends on the payment provider's rules, our Refund and Cancellation Policy, and applicable law. Google Play purchases should generally be requested through Google Play or the process identified in the purchase receipt. Cancellation of an auto-renewing subscription does not ordinarily refund the current billing period; access generally remains available until the period ends, subject to local law.
ShortTale Refund and Cancellation Policy: https://shorttaledramaapp.com/refund/
Contact us if a verified purchase was charged but the corresponding entitlement was not delivered. We may request an order identifier or other non-card transaction evidence. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory refund or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Advertising and Third-Party Promotions
Free or partially free use of ShortTale may include banner, native, interstitial, app-open, video, rewarded, or other advertisements. Some ads may be selected or measured using device, app, consent, and interaction information as described in our Privacy Policy. Where required, we request consent or provide applicable choices for personalized advertising.
Third-party advertisements and links may lead to products, websites, or services not controlled by ShortTale. We do not endorse or guarantee third-party offerings and are not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices, or transactions. Your dealings with an advertiser are between you and that advertiser, subject to applicable consumer law.
12. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Services unlawfully or in a way that harms, disrupts, overloads, or interferes with the Services or other users.
- Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, payment records, content-delivery infrastructure, or personal data.
- Use bots, scripts, emulators, modified clients, automation, or scraping tools to manipulate views, ads, rewards, Coins, subscriptions, promotions, or engagement.
- Submit malicious code, false complaints, fraudulent refund claims, or misleading information.
- Use the Services to infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights.
13. Third-Party Platforms and Services
The Services may depend on third-party platforms and SDKs, including Google Play Services, Google Sign-In, Google Play Billing, Firebase, AppLovin MAX, AppsFlyer, advertising networks, cloud providers, and content-delivery providers. Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies. ShortTale is not responsible for outages, account actions, payment decisions, or policy changes controlled solely by those providers, except to the extent required by law.
14. Updates, Availability, and Service Changes
We may release updates and may require installation of a current version for security, compatibility, content licensing, payments, or functionality. Device or operating-system requirements may change. We do not guarantee that every feature or title will remain available indefinitely or in every region.
We may suspend or discontinue part or all of the Services. Where reasonably practicable and legally required, we will provide notice and address active paid entitlements in accordance with applicable law, the payment provider's rules, and our refund policy.
15. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time and may request account deletion. We may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate access where we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, engaged in fraud or abuse, created security or legal risk, or where termination is required by a platform provider, rights holder, or law.
Upon termination, the license granted under these Terms ends. Sections that by their nature should survive—including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limitations, dispute terms, and accrued rights—remain effective. Treatment of unused purchased Coins or paid entitlements is subject to applicable law, provider rules, and the reason for termination.
16. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how ShortTale and integrated providers collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information, including account, viewing, purchase, advertising, attribution, and device data.
Privacy Policy: https://shorttaledramaapp.com/privacy/
17. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available." ShortTale does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, compatibility with every device, continued availability of particular content, or that every defect will be corrected. Statutory warranties and consumer guarantees that cannot lawfully be excluded remain unaffected.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShortTale and its affiliates, officers, employees, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from use of or inability to use the Services. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
19. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold ShortTale harmless from third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Services, violation of these Terms, infringement of another person's rights, or fraudulent conduct. This provision does not apply where prohibited by consumer law or to the extent a claim resulted from ShortTale's own conduct.
20. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where Cousins Trading LLC is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless mandatory consumer law in your country requires otherwise. Before filing a formal claim, you and ShortTale agree to make a reasonable attempt to resolve the dispute by contacting the other party and describing the issue and requested resolution.
Subject to mandatory consumer rights and jurisdiction rules, disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be submitted to the competent courts in the jurisdiction where Cousins Trading LLC is established. Users may retain the right to bring a claim before the courts or consumer authorities available under mandatory law in their place of residence. These Terms do not require arbitration unless you separately and expressly agree to it where legally valid.
21. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Services, prices, subscriptions, payment systems, business practices, or law. The effective date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated through the Services, website, email, or another appropriate channel where required. Changes apply prospectively unless law permits otherwise. If you do not agree with updated Terms, you should stop using the Services and cancel any subscription before its next renewal.
22. General Provisions
If a provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective and the affected provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; ShortTale may assign them in connection with a merger, restructuring, financing, or transfer of the Services, subject to applicable law. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund and Cancellation Policy, and purchase-specific terms constitute the agreement governing your use of the Services.
